Whew, been awhile, hasn't it folks? Well, life's been pretty busy and pretty damned sweet recently so I haven't had alot of time to do write a blog. Since this Blog is more or less just to bring you all up to speed with the stuff surrounding my existence, I'm going to itemize it. Here goes...
-I have been seeing the most beautiful girl for the last two weeks or so. Her name is Vanessa Canac, and she has steadily occupied about 93% of my conscious thought since appearing in my life. Every minute spent with her is a eon of bliss. Except the ones where she makes me play DDR. Those are more like centuries. Or decades. No, actually I'm just kidding. Somehow I'm actually learning to like DDR, despite its painful lack of weapons or combat elements of any sort. I'm guessing that's Vanessa's influence.
-My computer, as many of you know, has been a buggy piece of rat shit for a long time. At some point a month ago, I nuked it. Now it runs perfectly. I won't tell you exactly what I did to make it work, but I fear for the fate of my firstborn child. At any rate, having a working computer has been so novel that I decided to do something constuctive with it. Let me tell you, 3d Studio Max is a bitch to learn.
-Speaking of computers, Vanessa introduced me to a game called Morrowind for the PC. If you enjoy well paced, open ended, orgasmic action RPG goodness, and have yet to purchase or poach a copy of this, pull your head out of your ass and hop to it. Don't make any plans though; it'll suck you in quick.
-Oh, right, class. Well, I lost my battle with History of Ancient Egypt and had to Q drop it. No harm, but I'm all out of get-out-of-jail-free cards so no more fuckups. I kind of wish I'd met Vanessa earlier in the semester since she is my primary reason for studying at least hard enough to stay in school. Now final's time approaches and I'm a little frantic. It's gonna be really hard to see her if I have to downgrade to U of H or join the military. Looks like its gonna be a pretty intense week...
-Went to the gym with Vanessa, where she shamed me on the track. She ran nearly 4 miles. I managed to wheeze out 2. Pride is on the line now, so I'm getting into shape... Well had to happen eventually.
-I know a number of people were offended by the concept of Treasure Planet. For those of you hiding in a closet, Treasure Planet is a new movie in theaters now which is an outer space adaption of Robert Louis Stevensons Treasure Island. Vanessa and I saw it and my response to all of you who are offended is this: watch the movie. I'm as much of a purist as is possible without crossing the line into inflexibility, and I thought it was not only thoroughly entertaining, but an excellent homage to the literary classic. And if anyone is at a loss as to what to get me for christmas, check out Silver's arm in the movie. Or the wind board thing. Or almost any of the cool tech designs. Just go see it.
-I watched Perfect Blue (an anime) this morning. It was painful, but very Hitchcock like. If you haven't seen it, this next thing will make no sense to you. At the end, when the main character saves the psycho lady from getting hit by the bus, I groaned with displeasure and turned to my roommate and said, "No fucking way. If some bitch had just stabbed me twice, killed a bunch of people, and was trying to replace me, I would NOT save her from being hit by a bus. I would watch her die. No blinking." My roommate responded, "I hope the god of having a conscience reduces you to a little pile of bitter black pudding, David. And then I hope he eats you with a spoon." I still think my response is the most sensible, but feel free to make your own call.
-David out
